| Truth tables, logic, philosophy: Truth value tables or truth tables are tools for the characterization of logical links or the evaluation of logical statements that contain these links. In the simplest case, the links "and" and "or" are examined for two atomic partial statements a and b to be linked. For a and b, the possible truth values, in the divalent case therefore "true" and "false”, are used. The table shows that for the truth of "a and b" both sides must be true, while for the "or" case the truth of only one side is sufficient._____________Annotation: The above characterizations of concepts are neither definitions nor exhausting presentations of problems related to them. The truth value-table is not formulated in the language of logic, but represents certain consequences of the truth-definition in the meta language - also it does not affect the deductive development of logic.
